Privacy Policy
Effective 17 June 2026 · Dez Labs Private Limited
Introduction
Dez Labs Private Limited ("Dez Labs", "we", "us") operates the Dez mobile application and related web services at pilot.dezcare.ai (together, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who may access it, and your choices. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this policy.
Who The Service Is For
Dez is designed for caregivers and the people they support— including families managing chronic conditions such as dementia, diabetes, Parkinson's disease, heart disease, and related needs.
The Service is not a medical device. It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services. Always seek professional medical advice for health decisions.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Dez, we may collect:
- Account and profile information — name, email address, phone number, date of birth, address, profile photo, and account credentials.
- Health and wellbeing information — logs you or your household enter, such as hydration, exercise, hygiene, meals, sleep, vitals, medication records, notes, and related timestamps.
- Care team and household information — dependent profiles, caregiver relationships, support circle contacts, schedules, appointments, lists, and care-team settings.
- User content — list items, attachments, feedback and support requests (including optional screenshots), and messages you submit through the Service.
- Device and technical information — device push notification tokens, app version, and standard server logs (for example IP address and request metadata) needed to operate and secure the Service.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Authenticate users and manage household and care-team access.
- Display shared schedules, wellbeing logs, lists, and dashboard information to authorised members of your household or care team.
- Send optional push notifications and account-related emails (such as password reset).
- Respond to support requests and product feedback.
- Protect the security and integrity of the Service and comply with applicable law.
Who Can See Your Information
Dez is a household and care-coordination tool. Information you enter about a dependent or care recipient may be visible to authorised caregivers and household members linked to that account, according to your care-team setup and role.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not make your private health logs publicly searchable.
Access Acknowledgement
When you offer module access to your data or a dependent's data through Care Team, you confirm that you are of clear mind and fully understand what you are granting. The recipient must accept responsibility in the app before any granted modules become accessible.
You are responsible for choosing recipients you trust. Dez Labs is not liable for manipulation, misuse, or abuse of granted access by the recipient once you have authorised the grant in accordance with this policy.
Legal Basis And Consent
Where required by law, we rely on your consent and our legitimate interests in providing the Service. You may withdraw consent for optional features (such as push notifications) in your device settings; core account data may still be needed to provide the Service.
Service Providers
We use trusted third-party providers to host and operate the Service. They process data on our instructions and only as needed to provide their services, for example:
- Cloud hosting and application infrastructure.
- Database storage.
- Push notification delivery.
- Transactional email (such as password reset).
- File storage for optional user uploads.
Health Data And Apple Health
Dez stores health-related information that you enter in the app or that authorised caregivers enter on your behalf. We do not read or write data through Apple HealthKit unless a future version of the app explicitly states that integration and requests your permission.
Data Retention
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations. When you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymise personal information within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention requirements.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong password and keep your device secure.
Your Rights And Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access and update profile information in the app.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
- Opt out of optional push notifications in device settings.
Account Deletion
To delete your account and personal data, sign in to Dez and open Profile → Delete Account. Deletion is processed inside the app after we verify your identity. We will confirm when deletion is complete, subject to data we must retain by law.
Minimum Age Requirements
Dez is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region).
Dependents and secondary caregivers under 18 require parent or legal guardian authorization before their accounts are active.
Primary caregivers under 18 may register; full access requires review by Dez Labs and a written explanation of why access is needed.
Support circle Friend and Family contacts must be 13 or older. Ages 13–17 require explicit primary caregiver acknowledgment. Contacts confirm age and priority alert responsibilities (P0, P1, P2) at sign-in. Contacts under 13 are not permitted.
We collect date of birth to apply these requirements.
Children
Minor dependents and secondary caregivers may use the Service only with authorization from a parent or legal guardian. A primary caregiver who is not the parent or legal guardian cannot substitute for that authorization.
For dependents and secondary caregivers under 18, Dez Chat is disabled by default until a parent or legal guardian authorizes it through the primary caregiver account.
The Service is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us at the email below.
Support Circle Age And Responsibilities
Support circle Friend and Family contacts receive priority issue notifications so they can respond appropriately (for example, wellness check-ins). Dez is responsible for notification delivery; members act on alerts according to their relationship with the care recipient.
Friend and Family contacts must be 13 or older. The primary caregiver records date of birth and provides acknowledgment. Members confirm their date of birth and alert responsibilities when signing in to the support circle portal.
International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries where we or our service providers operate. We take steps designed to protect your information in line with this policy and applicable law.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy at this URL and update the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
